About Us

Newham Primary School is situated in picturesque surroundings near Hanging Rock, 10 minutes from Woodend.

Newham is a small, vibrant ‘village’ and consists of historical buildings and small acreages surrounded by long established farms, residential properties, small businesses and internationally recognised wineries.

It is a very proactive community that supports the school in a number of very positive and valuable ways. 

Although established in 1877, our attractive current school building was built in 2010 in the Rural Replacement Program. The school grounds are spacious and attractive with extensive ovals, playground equipment and special play areas developed and maintained by the Newham community.
